Brian McLaren On Thursday 11th May 2006, Brian McLaren will visit Teesside as part of his European tour. The Venue will be St Barnabas’ Church, St Barnabas’ Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough TS5 6JR (secure parking behind church) (map) Brian is an influential thinker on both sides of the Atlantic and is probably best known in the UK for his thought provoking writings, such as 'A Generous Orthodoxy' and the award-winning trilogy: ‘A New Kind of Christian’ ‘The Story we Find Ourselves in’ and 'The Last Word and the Word after That’ For more information about Brian click on the picture below: Or read our review of 'A New Kind of Christian'. For the past few years Brian has joined Steve Chalke (of Oasis) and Jason Clark (emergent-uk) for conferences in London. This is his first visit to the North-East. There will be two sessions with Brian: Afternoon session – ‘Mainly for Leaders’ in the Reid Room (church hall) 2.00 Arrival and Coffee. 2.30 Session 1: talk followed by opportunity for questions. 4.00 Tea and Coffee 4.30 Session 2: talk followed by opportunity for questions. 6.00 Finish Evening session - 7.30 - 9.30 p.m.– ‘A Generous Orthodoxy’ Brian will share some of his current thinking, with opportunity for discussion. There is a suggested donation of £3 to help cover costs of this event.
